I think if this happens—a really big IF—it should be without balloons and captions.

Opinions?

I’m all for whichever way you want to go.

If it does have your original lettering, I’m for that. The lettering in the
“finished” book are different enough that yours from the penciled pages
would be more of an “original” product.

I'd love to see the pages unencumbered. But happy either way.

I'm all for it. Even if the penciled version does not include the "throwaway" pages.

I think publishing the pencils would be amazing! That would
make for a wonderful book. And just showing the art would
distinguish it from the baloons/captions version originally
featured here on the website.

I guess I go the other way - I really like seeing the balloons on the pages in the original art.

I’d say minus balloons/captions.

I'm by no means saying that it's 100%, but I'm guessing the
*vast* majority that would be interested in pencils-only
would already have the published, full comic version. So
pencils only should actually be pencils only, to be
something special and wholly different. No lettering, no
balloons.

No balloons and captions would make for a great companion book!

I generally prefer seeing finished art with color, as comics are generally printed.  In this case, though, to me, the ELSEWHEN penciled pages are even more beautiful than the published project.  I was hoping that the penciled pages would get to be published as well, possibly in an omnibus that might contain both versions.  I would definitely like to see them published in some way and my preference would be for without balloons and captions.

If this is indeed an option, I'd say go whole hog and make it an Artists' Edition, full size shot from JB's raw scans. Which to me means at that point, no balloons or captions since they were never placed on the board to begin with.

*Whenever I get the chance to buy the inked version of my ELSEWHEN original, I will be wanting to re-add the balloons and captions somehow - because they were partially what drew me to that particular page in the first place!

A reminder that this is still pondering at this point. Nothing definite.
