Procedure completed. In my room for the night. All kinds of tubes coming out of me, so can’t walk around.

Ugh. I feel lucky in that I haven't had *any* surgery in my lifetime, at most having had a few moles removed (and that really doesn't count), and therefore this is a very unpleasant image. Hope you aren't too uncomfortable, JB!

That said, I'm sure it's inevitable in my post-50s(!) that I *will* have at least a bit of cutting 'n' stitching done on me, sooner or later! Looking forward to that..

Glad to hear all went well, JB. Hope you were able to get a
decent night's sleep. Now it's time for your sponge bath:
Ask Monique to do it...NOT Bertha. Trust me. :D

Not anymore, but—at the risk of bringing joy to the Byrne Bashers—last night will live in infamy as the most excruciatingly painful experience of my life!!!

Welcome back from the other side. Anesthesia made me wonder if that's what death is going to feel like. Plus coming out of it felt like time travel and teleportation all in one. After decades, I finally understood McCoy's aversion to Transporters!

A decade or so ago an attempt was made to reset my a-fib. They stopped my heart for a few minutes. I was technically dead.

The ghost who walks, that’s me

I remember when they put me under a few years ago for a colonoscopy. A very peculiar experience. When I woke up I was (for good reason) starving. The guy next to me woke up to be informed he had to come back, because he'd failed to do the cleanse before showing up and wasting everyone's time.

Technically I'm due for my next checkup this summer. ...yay.
