Spaceship Earth at EPCOT was very much in this vein with their ride.  But that was in 1989, and I assume they've changed it since then. Some things did come to pass, such as speaking on screens to one another.  Even in 1989 (when I saw it), that concept seemed so unique and far away, at least on the domestic, person-to-person way and now ... Facetime!

I was really introduced to this kind of art—beyond my comic reading—by a couple of books. YESTERDAY’S TOMORROWS and WASN’T THE FUTURE WONDERFUL.

I highly recommend tracking them down.
