James those types really annoy me! I remember the Brexit vote and the unexpected result to leave the EU, i saw a news item where young people were interviewed at a festival (Glastonbury if i remember correctly)and they were all against the result but didn't bother to vote because they thought it was a cert that the result would be us remaining.

This time, it wasn't just "my vote doesn't matter," it was people who abstained or voted third party as they felt Harris was far too connected with Biden's support of Israel. Some Far Leftists even went so far as to label Harris a hawk and trump a dove. I wish I were kidding.
This purity test and one-issue voters on the Palestine/Israel conflict doomed us.
What also gets me are the people on the Right who say, "Obama deported far more people." Well, he certainly went about it in a very different way, didn't he?

Can’t imagine Trump’s base voting for him if they thought he was a “dove”.

I can't figure out anything the Far Left says. They - including Susan Sarandon - were saying the same thing about Hillary in 2016.

The further Left they circle causes them to spin around to the Right

While I decry a direct comparison of ultra-progressives and MAGA, one thing they do have in common is a steadfast commitment to voting* against their interests. I think it's actually more hypocritical and self-defeating on the left, because we (supposedly) believe in things only an effective participatory democracy can provide.
*choosing to not vote - performatively or otherwise - as a form of protest is itself a form of voting, to me.

I've been racking my brain (and checking my thesaurus), but I don't think there's a direct antonym for 'empathy', at least in English. That right there should tell you something about how unnatural and twisted the MAGA philosophy as implemented by ICE really is; in order to talk about their behavior and guiding principles, you have to talk about them having a lack of a thing.
I guess the closest you could come would be 'objectivist', which while clearly at the root of this modern TechBro-driven rejection of any and all shared humanist ideals, isn't exactly a one-to-one refutation; it's more like an acceptable way to say 'greedy and selfish'.

Not to race-shame anyone, but don't think it's a full-on coincidence Musk and Trump are both of Germanic descent. Deliberate child neglect to make them 'strong' seems to have been built-in to the culture, starting in the 1800s, and then given state-sanctioned support by the Nazis. LINK
