So, to update, John Byrne was inked by these fantastic inkers on these books:

Dick Giordano--SUPERMAN
Joe Rubinstein--CAPTAIN AMERICA
Klaus Janson--WOLVERINE
Tom Palmer--SILVER SURFER
Bob McLeod--MARVEL TEAM-UP #100
Joe Sinnott--FANTASTIC FOUR
Terry Austin--X-MEN
Bob Wiacek--ALPHA FLIGHT
Bob Layton--INCREDIBLE HULK ANNUAL #7
Gene Day--AVENGERS #181
Dan Adkins--IRON FIST
Dan Green--AVENGERS
Tony DeZuniga--MARVEL TEAM-UP #70 (with THOR)
Al Williamson--CAPTAIN AMERICA #313 cover
Walt Simonson--X-FACTOR ANNUAL #4
Steve Ditko--MACHINE MAN #14 cover
Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez--NEW TEEN TITANS ANNUAL #2
Jim Aparo--UNTOLD LEGEND OF THE BATMAN #1

Wow!  That's amazing!  What a murderer's row of inkers!
Any other great pairings that we've missed so far?

I'll add some more off the top of my head:
Jerry Ordway--FANTASTIC FOUR
Pablo Marcos--Count Nefaria trilogy in AVENGERS
Dave Hunt--MARVEL TEAM-UP
Scott Williams--UNCANNY X-MEN #273 (NOT off the top of my head, but I came across a link)

How about these other names I/we grew up with?  Any examples for these:
Mike Esposito
Jim Mooney
Jack Abel
Vince Colletta
Kevin Nowlan
Mark Farmer

Frank Giacoia on Marvel Team-Up 53.  I saved up my money to buy that book way back in the day.  When I got it, I remember how disappointed I was that this Giacoia guy had ruined JB's artwork.  It wasn't until years later that I realized that wasn't exactly the case, and Cockrum redrawing the faces was a big part of it, but it's hard to see John's influence in the final product.

So Giacoia may be a great inker, but I definitely wouldn't count MTU 53 as a "great pairing," and I don't know of any other times Giacoia inked JB's pencils.

Mike Esposito inked JB on MTU #54.
Esposito had 50 years inking comics and was solid as a rock.

The ENEMY ACE Christmas story was the closest that JB ever got to be inked by Joe Kubert (it was actually son Andy, but it looked very much as if his dad had done it).

I would be really curious to find the original pencils someplace. I could swear that I saw it for the second page, but it didn't look took much like JB to me to begin with. I should have saved it when I did!

One of the few examples of my own work hanging in the Studio is a page from that ENEMY ACE job.

Dick Giordano--SUPERMAN

•••

In the name of historical accuracy, Dick inked some bits and pieces, and most of MOS 3, but the rest he farmed out to Frank MacLaughlin—which I leaned from Frank years later.

The good ones have been named but I really liked how Trevor Scott inked JB on The All New Atom comic.

I thought (think) Karl Kesel's inks were a good pairing with JB's pencils.

*Corrected for typo
