I saw a recent interview - not entirely sure if it was a RECENT interview, or if I merely saw it RECENTLY - and he clearly was not well.  Whatever flaws, I always seemed to find myself reading comics he was involved in, and enjoying them.  For that alone, I am grateful.

I feel that some of the best Marvel runs of all time occurred during those first few years of Mister Shooter's stewardship as editor-in-chief. I had the fortune of meeting him at a con, and thanked him for helping to make my personal comic book "golden age" so special. I also asked him about the three issue Count Nefaria story he did with my favorite artist, Mister Byrne and his exact quote was "John Byrne drew the hell out of those issues", and I couldn't agree more.

My sincere condolences to his family, friends, and fans.

RIP Mr. Shooter. Had the opportunity to meet him twice at a small convention. He would sign everything for free, and set up an Hero Initiative jar for donations. He would bring a plethora of time capsule comic history in his numerous binders and portfolios. He shared many great stories and moments. The last time I saw him, but not meet or greet, was at Fan Expo Canada 2023. He was charging (rightfully so) $50 raw/$60 CGC for copies of Secret Wars #8 and anything else $35 raw/$45 CGC.He had a nice personality, and I was fortunate to had met him.
