Athanasios (Ti kanis?:))

Yes you are correct they did have that random red color/tint. It was not just black and white.

I remember them reprints The Ross Andru era Spider-Man stories as well.  I think some Werner Roth X-Men too.

The Buscema Avengers is what really sticks on my mind. Loved those issues!

I was also trying to remember if there were any DC books reprinted in Greece..nothing came to mind except a nice oversize reprinting of Camelot 3000 (in full color). Art by the great Brian Bolland!

It took me years to find the conclusion to the story back home (in English) as the final chapters were not published during my time in Greece.

Funny how certain books imprint on you as a young lad. I still have a fondness for that series.

DC reprints started when Superman the Movie debuted in Greece, I think around January 1979, by Psaropoulos. I fond reports the book was released in December 1978, but since the movie debuted on January 2nd, 1979 and the gave it away with each ticket, I think it was actualy January.
This was the first cover, Superman #319...

After this, they released Batman and a couple of other titles, Superman being the one to last longer.

[...σούπα..?! Ah, these English to Greek transliterations bring back memories. Some point in the early 70s I was given an issue of Μίκυ Μάους...!]

Are you Greek Michael?

Yes it was funny how all the names were English transliterations into Greek (spider-man being my fave).
