Apple recently upgraded my OS—I was given no choice—and right away I have noticed two things:

For years I have been in the habit of clearing my search memory at the end of the day. It no longer does this successfully.

Second, YouTube has become practically pornographic, especially with AI materials.

Wassup widdat??

When it comes to the AI porn it's not just your iPhone. A few weeks ago I watched, briefly, an AI video on my TV that was titled something like "AI retro sci-fi future" which was mostly AI women bordering on softcore porn in settings that were kind of retro future sci-fi. Ever since then Google has decided that's all YouTube should recommend to me.

Google's algorithm has been horrible for a long, long time.

That said, AI animation has become pretty impressive.

I've turned off my history on YouTube so that it cannot recommend videos. It hates that. It bugs me to turn it back on every time I visit.

Are you trying to clear your browser history or YouTube history? And is it on your Mac or iPhone?

Yeah, Apple moved that to the dumbest of places. Go into settings, scroll all the way down to Apps, scroll down to Safari and then you can Clear History and Website Data.

Weird. When you say not working, I assume you mean that you can still find and go into the Safari app in settings. Is the Clear History button there and operable (not greyed out)? If it all appears normal, then how are you able to tell that it isn't working?

Fair enough. You've probably tried the turn it off and on already, but if not, that is step one.

Then go to settings>Apps>Safari>Advanced>Website data>remove all website data.

Finally, go into safari and tap the bookmarks icon>history>Clear.

Let me know if those work for you.

May I just take this moment to rant about how ridiculously
difficult it frequently is to do *any* kind of tech
housecleaning? How often things stay undone, no matter how
thoroughly you thought you did them? As close as I'll get
to an old man rant today, thanks.

Agreed Trevor.
The number of times I have told Facebook to not do targeted ads, and yet
there they are
