The Bleeding Cool article notes in the same auction, 2 JB pages from X-Men 125 and 126 sold for $69,000 and $72,000.

All this time, I assumed it WAS a Cockrum cover! I know that he designed her costume, and like the sketch showed, it had his style all over it.

JB - Do you still own any of your own original artwork?

To think that could've been Pollard/McLeod if their cover hadn't been rejected.

Some. Like the choo-choo train I drew when I was 3. :-)

I think Rob Liefeld bought the page from X-Men #125.

In 1984 I bought a Rembrandt etching. Not cheap! But ended up saving me money. Many a time I would come upon some expensive piece of art and say to myself “Really? You paid ‘only’ $XXX for REMBRANDT!”

Glad that Milgrom got some of the proceeds!

I always have a soft spot for him on the work he did after JB left The Incredible Hulk. I thought he really captured the vibe that JB set.

Slight drift, to expose my ignorance-  on that cover, I assume the logo is an external piece affixed to the cover art, is that correct? how do they get her hair over it? Is this done in several layers, or is the art cut and the logo inserted?

If you look at the original, some of the hair is whiter than the paper. must be some combination of painting over the logo and/or trimming it in production.

did Milgrom work in the office? might explain more stuff like that done with the logo.
