If they were a threat, would they really be operating with running lights?

Most likely our own military. But that doesn't stop local politicians from labelling them Iranian and calling for them to be shot down.

“Running lights” are the key so many times. Alien visitors cross the interstellar void, slip down into our atmosphere and… turn on their running lights?

Anything illuminated is not trying to be stealthy, and therefore not likely to be dangerous.

Joe Rogan asked on his show that if the aliens were so advanced to make it across the vast distances, why are they always crashing when they get to Earth? You addressed how it could happen. He must have not read AF 4.

All I know is, if I ever meet a for real alien, my first question after I said "hello" would be, "How'd you break the light barrier?"  Because if you can't do that, you're pretty much stuck in your own solar system.

Shirley Maclaine, in her book Out On A Limb, claimed to have seen an extraterrestrial craft of some sort.  While I thought some of her philosophical/spiritual comments were interesting, I call bullshit on that.

On the other hand, if an alien race wanted this planet for resources or whatever and didn't want to go through the trouble of an alliance with us or to try and kill us all off, they could easily manipulate us into destroying ourselves, or at least weaken us to the point where we'd be easy to control.  That's what I would do anyway, being the evil bastard I am.

Build a dome over the US and make the aliens pay for it.

…if an alien race wanted this planet for resources….

•••

…they could find everything they need in the asteroid belt and/or the rings of Saturn. No need to muck about with Earth’s gravity, atmosphere or pesky inhabitants.

Seems like neither the New York Times nor the Wall Street Journal consider this story important enough to feature much if at all on their respective homepages. A little tiny mention in the NYT and no mention in the WSJ. Hmph.

I’m surprised CNN hasn’t given them their own segment and theme music.

******
Sammy Hagar has claimed for years he has not only seen alien spacecraft,
but that his mind has had info downloaded into and uploaded from it. Also
that the aliens took his soul into their ship.
