Very sad. His work appeared just as I stopped buying comics regularly, but I absolutely loved his style.
52 is no age at all.

Loved his work. His art was a big reason for me being such a fan of PLANETARY.

One of the great missed opportunities in comics, I believe, is when it was announced that Cassaday would be drawing Superman. Only for it to be the "Grounded"-storyline by Straczynski where Superman walks (!) across America. A waste of a great artist.

Wow. Kind of stunned by this. Cassaday was an amazing talent. My interest in comics waned considerably in the late 90s and my knowledge of comic creators post-2000 is slight, but Cassaday was someone whose art forced its way on to my radar.
