I’d forgotten there was a “pilot” for GAY GUY. Showing the potential publishers what the strip would be like, I guess. Forgot, too, that Gary Cody was credited as co-creator.

Most of you by now know the context. SO long ago. The world was a different place. For a sense of that, seek out 1970s vintage copies of the NATIONAL LAMPOON!

Stephen thanks for sharing the comic strip, it’s always cool to see work from a young John Byrne starting his journey on his art career. These and his early fanzine pieces show us a bit of the greatness that lies ahead. The acorn that grows into a mighty oak tree! Thanks for sharing.

Checked, and was surprised to see the EMORY WEAL, the SAIT newspaper where GAY GUY was published, continues as an online presence.
