In unrelated news, Trump's Bitcoin is a proverbial Swiss bank account into which anyone can pour any amount of untraceable money to buy whatever kind of influence they want.

Lucky for us, our dear leader has the integrity of hardened steel and would never put the interests of his own bank account ahead of the interests of our great nation.

It is also hard to "Buy American" when we import more than we export and certain goods we import are imported because we don't make them here.

Trumf appears to think tariffs will spawn an explosion of new factories producing American made goods.

Which, of course, would not be subject to tariffs.

I don’t know how many of you have seen this, but it’s a must watch.

It’s the full video (roughly 30 minutes) of the speech Democratic Governor of Illinois JB Pritzker gave in New Hampshire last night.  It’s a searing indictment of both Republicans and Democrats in reaction to Trump’s first 100 Days.  It’s the kind of speech I’ve been desperate to hear but have felt very few have addressed in such a sweeping, broad narrative.  It embodies the despair many are feeling with the urging not to give in to that, but to resist.

I’ve known who Pritzker is but have never really heard him speak nor known what he stands for.  Now I do and I’m impressed.  As the slow march to 2028 continues, he’s someone whom I will be following closely in the hope that his message can break through the noise.

JB: Trumf appears to think tariffs will spawn an explosion of new factories producing American made goods.

**

This is a long held wish of a swath of Americans who have concerns about countries that "take our jobs".

But Americans are too used to being consumers for it to be easy to imagine them flocking to factories to take jobs on assembly lines. (Presuming the factories ever get built when tariff policy is so erratic).

As Dave Chapelle said, "I want to WEAR Nikes, I don't want to MAKE 'em!"

2028 is too late. I’m still very much doubting we’ll have midterms next year.

We'll have the midterms, but the results will be overturned (if they're not in Trump's favor).  See what's going on in North Carolina right now with the state Supreme Court seat and note that it will set precedent.

That's the strategy, at any rate. How it will play out is anyone's guess.

Of course this would be of great benefit to Amazon customers, but as usual, Bezos got on his knees to the White Brains Grifter.

What a bunch of fucking [FILL IN THE BLANK]!
