OPSEC = Official Persons Seriously Evading Competency.
Avoiding FOIA compliancy, ffs. Hard to believe that some/many of these people have likely had to do annual OPSEC training and a variety of secure communications training for years, whether it was those who served active military or from previous years of government service.
Then they have the nerve to drag the reporter, calling him scum and other terms... YET SOMEHOW he must have been in at least one participants contacts list in order to get the invitation to join the chat.
It'd be one thing if they used SIgnal (or WhatsApp, or Telegram, etc) to set up a weekend BBQ at Maralago.... but for official use? Morons.

The Atlantic released the transcript earlier today (behind a paywall, but you can get a 30 day free trial) that makes clear that everyone of the officials who testified yesterday lied under oath.
If one generously assumes they were *not* lying, I'm not sure which is worse. That they didn't know all this stuff we are paying them to know, or they lied about knowing it and were comically sloppy with the security.

After all the bullshit testimony under oath yesterday as well as responses which were incredibly disingenuous, I love that the Atlantic published receipts! That’s one of many reasons I’ve had a sub since 2016.

I can’t stand when politicians use the ‘I can’t recollect’ BS when
questioned.
That answer is a breach of oath.
We have had a parade of them using that during things like the covid inquiry
over the past year, and I was expecting it to be used here, despite the
timescale being really short.
I want to see a journalist have the guts to ask this lot, especially Trump
when he says he’s unfamiliar with something, to just say ‘you’re an effing
moron then aren’t you’.
No way does he not know this is going on.

This surprises nobody, least of all the GOP in Congress. All this does is confirm a) the less-than-single-minded idiocy of the Trump Cabinet (Hegseth in particular), b) the hubris dome that they've generated as a result, and c) the disdain for our allies.
Maybe the only thing that would surprise those self-same GOP Senators who gave rubber-stamp confirmations to all of Trump's nominees is just how quickly said incompetence and hubris were revealed.
