I cannot believe that people think it is a bad idea to check that
homeschooling parents are teaching their kids a proper education.
I get that they may want to teach a less formal education, with increased
emphasis on experience, but there should still be some form of oversight to
make sure the kids actually get a wide range of subject areas taught to a
minimum standard

We are in a full-blown constitutional crisis.
Trump's dipshit cabinet is on Fox News explaining their refusal to obey the courts as "we don't have to obey the courts".
Womp-womp. Rule of law died on T.V.
Meanwhile the Dems are trying to decide if Chuck Schumer deserves another chance or if we need a new leader to continue the party's feckless capitulation.
Angry protests stop authoritarianism in the Czech republic, in Chile, it almost worked in friggin' China. It's all we have left here-- though this particular giant seems fast asleep at the moment.

Although I agree writ large about the incompetence evident in the Democratic Party, protests are happening. Those at Tesla dealerships and charging stations are growing across the country. Tesla’s stock is falling at a precipitous rate not least of all to do with mass sell-offs and it’s worrisome enough for the admin to hold a Tesla sales pitch in front of the White House and Commerce Secretary/Trump lackey Howard Lutnick urging Americans to buy Tesla stock. There are also protests in big cities around the gutting of the Department of Education.
