At this moment,  I would love to hear from 47 supporters on this forum defend his first 20 days in office.

C'mon people, show us what you got.

Do you TRULY believe that he's helping you?

Hell, that Day One promise of lowering the price of groceries/goods on Day One  has yet to happen.

It annoys the heck out of me when someone in opposition blames those in
office for a situation, the. Once in power, says they cannot be blamed for
the ongoing situation.

DEI is a priority for Trump if it can help whites.

How on brand for the son of a man arrested at a KKK rally who was sued by
the government into compliance with laws that ended the “whites only”
policies at his apartment buildings- in the 1970s.

When he teamed up with the son of a South African emerald millionaire who
protects his employees right to use the “n word”, the whites of South Africa
have finally found their champion.

The sickness at the heart of MAGA is foul and thick.

We recently stopped using the one cent piece here a few years back. It is not missed.

Canada has not used pennies pretty much the whole time I have lived here. Funnily enough, the last few times I've been in the UK, I've found it pretty hard to use any coins. There was a WHSmith at the airport where the only way to pay appeared to be card or pay apps.

On the face of it, it's a no-brainer. But there's a part of me that's uneasy with it, and I think it's because I suspect it's part of a larger strategic push the administration is making towards crypto.  And when you combine this with the barely-pubescent kool-aid drinking DOGE team gaining access to the Treasury payment systems, well...

I think during the first Trump term I wasn't paranoid enough, so I'm allowing my darkest suspicions to get some sunlight.

Edited to add: also including the pardon of dark web maven Ross Ulbricht and the recent moves under Russ Vought to shutter the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. None of this feels isolated, to me.

Trump to loosen enforcement of US law banning bribery of foreign officials

Apparently America is losing its competitive edge when it comes to graft.

Everything the White Brains Grifter touch dies.

The elimination of the penny will eventually catch up to consumers.

To confirm Peter’s point above. The UK is indeed rushing to be a cashless
society, which can cause problems for people.
I was in a sports shop & an elder gentleman was trying to buy a football for
his grandkid.
But he only used cash. He was told no cash but then dismissed. He was left
@ the self service tills, because there were no manned tolls anymore,
another move we are experiencing, just muttering to himself ‘I only want to
buy my grandson a football’ but was totally ignored.

I suggested that I would buy it on my card & he gives me the money. Solved
the issue & he was very grateful, but I do worry we are doing this far too
quickly.

Along with other moves like moving 100% to fibre & internet phone lines. The
blurb issued includes the phrase ‘in the unlikely event of a power cut …’
I would say power cuts are uncommon, not unlikely, having had two as recent
as last week.

There are things I've read about how people in other countries criticize Americans for us thinking we're the only ones who matter. It reminds me of the weird Gulf of America thing. It also had me thinking today about the Fraggle Rock characters who were the King and Queen of the Universe. It's so easy to think too much of yourself it seems.
