I've come to the conclusion that the key to Trump's appeal is that he is passionately HATED by the people his followers hate. That's what they love about him, that the people on "the other side" despise him so much. That's why nothing else he does matters. As long as he remains hated by liberals, marginalized people, educated people, et al, his followers will continue to love him, no matter what else he does.

The really sad thing is, 90% of what he wants to do will never happen, even with a friendly congress. It's sad because his followers believe he WILL do everything he says and forget all the things he promised in the first term but didn't accomplish...some of them even think he did accomplish those things and no amount of facts to the contrary will convince them.
I was upset when Bush lost to Clinton in 1992, but I never even dreamed of denying the results or thinking it was rigged or stolen.
Crazy times.

Trumf says Liz Cheney should be “fired upon”.And somehow he’s still not in prison. ******* In 2016, at one of his rallies, he said 'maybe there's a 2nd Amendment solution' to Hilary Clinton. I've never forgotten that, and I CANNOT believe it wasn't picked up and commented on.

...and yet, according to most polls, this still a tied race.
If he wins, this country deserves what it gets. 🤦🏾♂️

Trump's comment that "Second Amendment people" could "do" something to stop to Hilary appointing Supreme Court justices should she be elected was widely reported. When that story broke, in August of 2016, she was leading him in national and swing state polling, both. Hmph!

I remember thinking when Trump won in 2016, "I guess the United States is even more misogynist than it is racist." The fact that it could put a black man in the Oval Office *twice* – but rejected a highly experienced politician in favour of a game show host – seemed the only possible conclusion.
And here you are again.

We're encouraging a culture of transactionism: as long as I get mine, screw the world. That's likely to be the appeal to those that are suffering and as desperate (and in denial) as the majority of his constituency are. A crazy person delivering on your needs is better than a nice person coming up short.Last thing on their minds is geopolitical norms. Not excusing, just explaining. And by the way, this authoritarian bent is pretty common in many countries these days, unfortunately.
