Who else is this nuts?
I'm creating digital "issues" of my Elsewhen files and, well, I wanted covers. I also wanted "The Untold Phoenix" to just be "X-Men 137".
Well, actually I want all of "Elsewhen" to just be "Uncanny X-Men" -- so I'm mocking up covers for my issues and I thought I'd share here in the "Fan Fic" corner of JBF.
So here's the "Elsewhen" X-Men 137 cover [edit: the original Untold cover recently resurfaced and is now my fanfic Alt X-Men #137 cover]. And 138, and the first issue of "Elsewhen" which actually fits very nicely as an alt-version of KING SIZE ANNUAL #4.

The Annual idea is cool. Who did the inking for the Wolverine/Sauron picture?

Thanks— JB put the idea out there that he wasn’t feeling like the first issue fit perfectly and whether or not it should actually be “Elsewhen #1”— but it has just the right elements for an annual and “replaces” the X-Men trip to Dante’s inferno which never really seemed like an X-Men story to me anyway.
The inking is by Brazilian artist Laercio Lima.

I'd happily pay 75 cents for that annual! :^)

Me too, but our money’s no good here! We got it for free and I will never quite get over that.

"My Elsewhen" includes "Days of Future Past" -- one reason being that I could put the John Byrne cover onto issue #142. And then, after #143 comes #144 -- "PROTOTYPE". A stab at something Marvel editorial might have asked for: Kitty in costume, being menaced while showing off her powers. I don't know. It tickles me to have a new #144.

And 138, with the original framing of Scott and Jean. ***** I’m missing something, here. This looks like the cover to 138 minus the Toys R Us banner

Yeah, I worded that badly. I meant that 138 with the original framing was part of "Elsewhen" and this was the cover I mocked up for that issue.

I cannibalized some inked Elsewhen to be a cover for X-Men #145.

I chose a commission that fit the imagery of the story for X-Men 146 and repurposed a great Cockrum cover for X-Men 147. There were many artists, including Cockrum covers, on the old Uncanny X-Men.

I realize the madness of this is a self-brain-washing project of trying to displace my memories of the original run. So repurposing images from the time works for me.--Man, Elsewhen is awesome.

In my files, I collected 2 issues into one for a "double-sized" #150. That made the Sentinel story conclude in issue #151.
