She was the author or architect of several important decisions -- protecting abortion rights and securing against the establishment of religion, etc. A conservative judge, appointed by Reagan... amazing to ponder how many of her judgments would not accord with Republican-Conservatism today.

Imagine that a... 'centrist' judge. A lost concept? She did some things that have turned out to be bad precedents, should the count in Florida in 2000 have been stopped? Presumably it might've aided to sufficient time for the transfer of intelligence from one admin. to the next, except Bush Jr. seems to have been more interested in golfing anyway and all the intel of on-going Al-Queda plots went into some less than urgent file. Some of the 'good' thing have simply been undone regardless of precedent (a 'triumph' of sheer will still ongoing).

Maybe DC or Marvel could do a reset to our universe hinging on where Obama's conservative Supreme Court pick is 'allowed', or on some earlier point like Thomas not getting passed through despite serious issues with his character... I remember when Reagan was the potential destroyer of worlds, not without some grounds, but how quaint and sometimes 'centrist' those times can seem now. Now there seems to be no room for a center other than caught in the middle. War of the Judges maxi-series? :^(

To me, she was still a partisan hack and
involved in the worst Supreme Court
decision in history, Bush vs Gore, which
handed the Presidency to George W Bush,
somethjng she regretted years later.
