DC continuity is so fractured, I can't imagine that anything one artist/team does has any bearing on the next.

It's funny how whether or not Batman knows about Joe Chill is dependent on multiple Earths fusing, or the timestream changing. This has gone back and forth a few times, now.

What I hate about that DETECTIVE COMICS alteration is that though I know nothing about guns, I can tell that the originally drawn gun was unusual, providing an immediate clue that Batman is holding it for a REASON. Turning it into a generic pistol negated that completely (I can vouch for myself at least when I first saw it as a kid. I saw it as significant that Batman's holding up a gun, but that was it. The original would have had me asking "Why is he holding up THAT gun?"

The Batman animated movie Mask of the Phantasm is heavily based on it. (And is far superior!)

Yeah, YEAR TWO was terrible. I think all Batman fans collectively tried to ignore it.

The Animated Series guys took the logline and turned it good, as they usually did.

The 65 episodes of the original series (before "New Adventures") is on Netflix now in my region and since I cancelled my HBO Max subscription a couple of years ago, I've took on the habit of leaving it in the background when I'm around working or doing chores.

Still brilliant, the best distilled Batman ever.

Thanks for the prompt Rodrigo - I just checked Netflix UK and it's on there too.  Love the art deco feel of those cartoons!  Think I've just found my next series to binge :)

Wished they used JB's cover for FF 293 than what was published.

Frank Miller drew a cover for the tenth anniversary issue of Judge Dredd Megazine which went unused, perhaps because the shading made it look as though Dredd had grown a beard.

Or perhaps it was deemed too cartoony for Dredd.

In this thread, I'm just stunned with the choice to not use some of these unused covers.

I rather suspect that the FF cover had less to do with artistic reasons and more to do with sour grapes.
