Wow.... Kevin McCarthy defending the ex-prez hoarding stolen national security documents in his Mar-a-Lago bathroom: “A bathroom door locks!”(Nevermind that most bathroom doors tend to lock only from the inside!)
This is absolutely pathetic.
This Congress is a big mess.

I meant he had intentions for those documents beyond just the cache of having them and showing them off to guests. He knew the value to them to the right interested parties, and intended to leverage that value to get something he wanted.

The cries of god and country (sigh) and idea that only white Christian Republicans are patriots is quite humorous. Then they show their love of country by trying to make it over in Putin's image. Nothing more patriotic than that!
McCarthy trying to get some points back, Charles after daring to avert a disaster with debt ceiling (e.g. working with Joe).
US is broken. We need a guy like Superman to fix this mess.

I would not be surprised if his intent was to have leverage if/when charged with something serious. e.g. I'll release top secrets. He's a mad man, after all.
Most "innocent" reason is he's ill and needed souvenirs to remind himself and his friends (he showed the documents to visitors) he was the most powerful man in the world. In his mind, not accepting obvious election loss = still the most powerful man in the world. He's an insecure small person who can't even put on bronzer correctly.
On another front, I like how he declares himself not guilty. We all KNOW he's guilty. He admitted to having the documents, saying he had the right to have the documents, there are photos of the haphazardly stored documents. No need for a trial here (with his self appointed judge no less) - guilty.

I'm really sick and tired of how much time the tv (still) spends on this creep. It's similar to how sick I got of seeing O.J. and Michael Jackson 'coverage' at times in the past. Wish him into the cornfield Billy! Blech.

I see Trump using the charges to his advantage. I can see him *wanting* to have his mugshot taken in order to use the photo to raise money. The charges will bring the entire GOP rank and file to his side, eliminate any primary opposition (look at the polls) and convince some (many?) of those who are not Republicans that something is rotten in Denmark, and that his legal problems are political persecution by the party in power against the one that isn't.
