At the bottom left side of the photo is a leather briefcase, it got me wondering it that was yours? It seems like maybe it’s the same one I seen you retrieve material from at some of your last Mid Ohio cons? 
If so, that trusty little case has carried a lot of comic art history!!! |

I remember coming across a couple of pages of pencils from that issue online that I wish I saved because now I can't find them. You're right, I remember Diana's face being a circle with guide lines (not sure the proper term) and eyes and that's it. But your styles are so similar that us kids were none the wiser. Most of us didn't realize that you both switched places for their Doppelgangers, either (though I remember getting a sense that that Wonder Woman looked more like yours, and Superman looked "off", not being as familiar with George's version). I also saw a page with the top panel completely blank, and your note said "Draw the Greek Gods here - All yours, George!"
I have a special place for Action #600. If I had to briefly put you two in a competition, I would consider you to be the better penciller of the two, and George as the better inker (not a knock on your own inks of course - it's just that George did something unique with a pen that I've never seen anyone else do). So putting you both together was magical. I wish it happened more often!

I have never seen an artist that enjoyed his fans as much as George did, It was fun to watch his interactions… he was always so enthusiastic and animated!

Totally agree ! A little like two of your favourite musicians collaborating unexpectedly, Action #600 was a tour-de-force - I must dig it out again for a re-read !

I miss the ooold days of the Byrne Ward on AOL when George would occasionally show up. The friendly banter/competition between them was fun to watch.

Got to agree with everyone here, Action #600 was a very special issue. I was still kind of young at the time, with it being one of my first DC purchases. So I wasn't quite at the point where I knew that JB and George Perez were legends in their fields. But even without that knowledge I could tell the artwork was really special. Absolutely gorgeous work throughout.

Amusing anecdote: ACTION 600 was produced at a time when I was starting to set up my Godwave story, establishing that gods and godlike (metahuman) beings had been sown across the universe by a surge of energy generated by the destruction of Kirby’s original God World. (“When the Old Gods died…”)George, who had become deeply immersed in Greco-Roman mythology thru his work on Wonder Woman, expressed discontent at the idea that those gods had been created by some outside force. I chuckled. “You don’t like the notion that Jack Kirby created the Greek gods?” George smiled his big George smile, and the matter was resolved.
