I read about that... great tribute to Pérez. Maybe DC will do something similar?

The recent anniversary of the death of Neal Adams got me thinking about George. When I checked the dates, I was surprised to be reminded they were so close together.

Jumping the gun, here. The actual anniversary is Friday. But is it ever too soon to give thought to absent friends?

Hard to believe it's been nearly a year.  Not a day goes by where I don't see Perez artwork online on either FB or Twitter.

So I decided to put George Perez art everywhere in my lap.
I had to do it, Mr. Perez still keeps getting better every year...

I was luck enough to chat with George briefly at a convention here in Phoenix years ago, and as anyone who has met him can probably attest, he was a joy to meet and must have enjoyed interacting with the fans quite a bit.

I regret that I never had the chance to meet him. I've never seen a photo of him where he wasn't smiling from ear to ear - even when he knew that he didn't have much time left.

And I'm with you guys - I joined several Neal Adams and George Perez Facebook groups just to get a daily dose of their art - but there are definitely times where I get sad or angry when I do.

One of my favorite George memories remains singing show tunes with him as we shared a ride from a con hotel to the airport.

Were you and George able to hit those high notes on Star
Trek: TOS's theme?

Such a bittersweet day, as George Pérez would've turned 69 today.

Eternally grateful for the time he had... and the amazing talent he shared with us...

Remembering George Pérez.. today marks 2 years since Pérez passed away. His creative genius is sorely missed.

Two years. The universe is cruel.
