 | Republicans are on a run.... in about 24 hours, they voted against:
 - VA Benefits For Toxin-Exposed Veterans - A bill to report problems with neo-Nazis in the military - A National Active Shooter alert bill
The fact they vote against VA benefits on a regular basis, and vets continue to vote (R) just baffles me.
UPDATE: Thankfully... these bills are likely to pass afterall.

The fact Mitch McConnell gets re-elected every time just floors me.
Everything he does is for the worsening of his constituency but they think
 he hung the moon.

The problem is that for large swaths of the population, voting has become a matter of class/cultural identity rather than policy.  People vote for their team and respond to dog-whistle cultural issues like guns, religion, and fear of minorities.  Specific economic policies do not matter at all.  That's why the Democrats face an uphill climb (if not an impossible task) trying to appeal to working class voters with policy initiatives only, as this article discusses.  Trump has proven that it's not what you do but who you are that matters to these voters. |

Of course they're going to vote against any bill that has to do with reporting Neo-Nazis. Because the Right-Wingers pretty much are Neo-Nazis.

I don't wish for the death of anyone, but when he dies there will certainly be someone to fill the void left by his passing.  He's laid the groundwork for how to succeed in government without really trying.  Just vote "no", hang your hat on the filibuster and delay, delay, delay until the president you want takes the office.
 That's GOP governance in the 2000s.   |

Shame on every single Republican senator that voted against healthcare coverage for military veterans who were exposed to toxins and burn pits during their service...

They talk about 'RINOs', they should be talking about the 'HYPOs' in the party, the hypocrites! But then I've known that since I found out how much Republicans have spent and raised taxes (though only on certain classes they aren't beholden to) in modern times versus the supposed tax and spend libruls (Reagan more than tripled the national debt and raised taxes nineteen times).

Trump will have that purple heart to keep him warm in his dotage, the one he "always wanted" and a vet was fool enough to give him. Bone spurs and awol Texas Air National Guard heroes, and yet they bashed all sorts of actual vets not up to their standards like McCain and Kerry. That's called 'Strong' (c) tm pat pend. by the current party.

I’ve enjoyed all the “McConnell got McConnelled” headlines today.

“Let’s screw over sick veterans” seems odd for a campaign platform.

 | We need more leadership like Jon Stewart. Encouraging to see him calling Cruz out on his BS -

I feel like that kind of lying by a person in Congress should come with consequences.
 Severe, legal consequences... job-ending consequences.

He’s got to end up running for office, right?

There are so many GOP/Trump threads I’m not sure which to use to

 | comment on this development, but I’ll go with this one.

The FBI have raided Trump’s Florida residence & taken documents, even
 breaking into his safe.

In typical Trump bluster, he has compared the ct to a banana republic.

I’m more concerned that documents have been stuck todather after being
ripped up, flushed down toilets & removed from classified areas.

 But that’s me & I’m not a pod person.
