JB have you wanted to collaborate with Gary Cody again? And could you tell us how you to got together back in the 90's?

Gary and I met in Art College in the early 70s, and we have been pals ever since. When I got around to doing my own creator-owned stuff I thought I would try to give the audience something "special" and asked Gary if he would like to try his hand at painting some covers. I don't know if this will happen again -- Gary has a pretty full plate.

You know, I wasn't a big fan of the painted NEXT MEN covers, but those are some very lovely pieces that Gary is exhibiting!

I loved comparing the painted front covers to the
original line art on the back covers of those books.

I loved the painted covers on NEXT MEN.  Would love to see him do something else of yours, John.  One can hope.

I haven't seen those Next Men covers. Are they online or in a gallery somewhere?

I believe Gary painted the covers of the last 8 issues of NEXT MEN, and he also did the two BABE series and DANGER UNLIMITED covers.  Wonderful work.  As Bill Wiist said above, I too loved comparing the painted cover to the black and white linework on the back cover.

See, even then JB was giving us a peek behind the scenes.  Wotta guy!
