BTW, since Marvel/Chris had typically sent me no reference when I drew that scene, I left off details of Wolverine’s Fang costume (which I had seen only once, briefly) asking that Dave add what was missing. He seized the opportunity to redraw practically every X-Men face and figure in the story, including Wolverine.

First off, the dialogue in the second panel went right past me for decades, but damn, now that reads as downright DARK.

Re: The Fang costume, I guess I'm misremembering, but I could have sworn that the lore was you drew him in the yellow costume, not having been told that he was supossed to be wearing the Fang outfit. (Looking at the release dates for IRON FIST #15 and X-MEN # 107, it appears that IF came out FIRST*, which would actually make this the first published appearance, and completely understandable if you drew the "wrong" costume.

*If that's true, then readers at the time must have been so confused!
