I have REALLY been enjoying these last few pages. Not that I haven't REALLY been enjoying everything that's come before them, but somehow JB keeps making this book better and better.

It's scary.

I mean... Is it fair for one guy to be such a good artist and writer?!?

JB's work really is the heart & soul of comic books for me. I greatly appreciate his balance of internal consistent logic yet really fun storytelling. ELSEWHEN feels unburdened and energetic and the art is an absolute joy to behold. I have far fewer things to look forward to everyday than I did during JB's first run on the title, so I treasure every moment that I get to experience real comics again.

JB - how much of what you're showing as Wolverine's history is new and how much have you had in your head for years? In the past you've given some details of your version of how he got the adamantium skeleton but was the other stuff already in your head (e.g. The Invaders)?Also, in this telling, does Logan remember all this - or, at least, did he before Phoenix cooked his brain?

A cattle stampede. Never thought it would be something quite so mundane.
And I love it.

I just reread the whole issue and something Shaman said a few pages back
really stood out. He said something along the lines of “something I’ve never
seen in Wolverine before.” These little lines that suggest the deeper ties
between Alpha and Logan than we’ve been shown before are just
wonderful. They make perfect sense and open up a whole world of things
not previously considered.

How can a comics page be so warm, and also so brutal? I love JB's ability to draw normal people and historical settings.

That scene at the train station is probably taking place around 1950. It's somewhat amusing to note that, much like for Captain America and Namor, "Marvel Time" has not kicked in for Logan just yet. But it's about to hit hard!

We're approaching what I've called the "Johnny Got His Gun" portion of Wolverine's life.
