Off-set didn’t come along until after I left the X-Men. There was a big t’do about it.

Hm. When new collections of older issues are released, do they recolor the art? I'm wondering-- JB, would you want to see how your X-MEN and FANTASTIC FOUR art turns out if it were being computer colored, etc.?

Whoa! Did not expect to see that! In no small part because I got confused (with the years) and thought Logan was in WWI.

Doh.

Great stuff. Could easily have been it's own miniseries.

Also, a lingering question for Mr. Byrne --- did I misinterpret you earlier, are you not a fan of Kubert's work?

In addition to the mind-blowing story-content, I want to take a moment to admire the amazing variety of line-effects being accomplished on these pages with this pencil/scanning form of publishing.

I've never seen pages that look like these and these pages look incredible. The flashback feels like it's in a different "film stock". This whole series has something to boast about from just about every conceivable angle.

I’m very proud of how I draw Cap’s shield. Put considerable effort, early on, into figuring out how to do it.

An important detail that many artists seem to miss is that the shield is shaped like a contact lens, not flat.

Of course, knowing how to draw circles in perspective is most vital!

Believable concentric ovals in perspective on convex object, no small feat! < id="protanopia"> < id="deuteranopia"> < id="tritanopia">

I know this encounter is likely just in "generic WWII" fiction land, but the WWII history buff side of my brain is wondering if this is taking place after the Dieppe Raid of 1942 or post-Normandy invasion of 1944.

That would be something to see, an image of Cap helping storm the beaches of Normandy.

You’ll get a pretty good fix on when this is happening when we return to this thread of the tapestry.
