‘Weaponised’ is an interesting turn of phrase. Suggesting that blood with a healing factor built in can be made a weapon is definitely a twist. Copied, improved and mass-produced? Oh yeah, that’s a kicker…

I love how this story is adding connections between Wolverine and Alpha Flight beyond Mac and Heather finding him and helping him rejoin society. He's never felt so Canadian.

How dare you, John? You pass 10 years in one panel? Don't you realize it's a waste?
(Thanks for reminding us what comics used to be like., keep it up..)

This is so good, and I loved seeing Michael's grandfather. Like many of you, I recognized the Easter egg immediately.
And I learned about the Metis today. Thanks for that too.

So far, this has that mythic tragedy feeling of old Marvel comics origins, like we got with the Lee and Kirby's Incredible Hulk, Lee and Ditko's Doctor Strange or JB's own Alpha Flight. It's so good to be able to read this kind of comics again. Thanks, JB!

Loving the panel border effect for the flashback moments. Very effective. :-)

I reread these pages for this morning's DEAR time, and am amazing at how natural and right each one feels. It's especially enjoyable to finally read Wolverine's real "origin" story.

Today's page shows how to do the passage of time within a single page and have it be meaningful. As noted, another writer might have stretched this one page out into a miniseries of its own.

The art here is so raw. Except that word just doesn’t do it justice. Kubert- that’s the word.
