It occurs to me there is a fourth factor (now there’s a title!) that contributes to my fun working on this series, and therefore to yours in reading it:
• I can do whatever I want with the absolute certainty that no other “creator” is going to muck it up, deliberately or otherwise.
It took me almost a year to slide comfortably into that zone.

Andrew, you have no idea! Without the specters of certain individuals lurking at my shoulder, the work flows like an undammed stream. Nary a whisper of "Oh-hhh, how is Stanley Staffhack going to f*ck this up?"

Yes and no. With those, there were still the routine problems. As Roger Stern used to say, if there were six people in the “production line” that was six chances to f**k it up. And even if I was three of them, well, I’m certainly not infallible.
Seriously, if anyone has earned the right not to be restricted by intrusive editorial impediments, it is someone who has mastered their craft, paid their dues many times over, and repeatedly demonstrated the responsibility and professionalism of timely delivery.
After all. the likelihood is that any with whom you would have to interact would have far less experience and insight from which to draw, let alone the editorial acumen to execute a productive effort.
In short (too late!), keep 'em away!
P.S. Say what you want (deservedly) about the internet and social media and its failings and what not, but it IS its existence that makes this success of this effort even remotely possible!
