Mal, I vaguely remembered that, and looked it up -- it's UXM 105, and it was more than twice. Which raises a good point: he's had a habit of coming back, at least in our heroes' reality.
In my own mind I've come up with such vivid idea for what becomes of the alts and who leads them, that if JB ever decides to return to commissions work, I'd be very tempted to spend the $ to make it a "reality". Until then, I'll keep my speculations to myself.

For all my grumbling, Chris did write a few scenes that I thoroughly enjoyed. That completely appropriate use of Galactus was one—and, honestly, something I don’t think he could/would have done a few years later.

Maybe my #1 wish list (non creator owned) JB story these days is the question of what the Richards Rocket Group (from JB's What If story) does when Galactus shows up.

Assuming they still went to the Moon, circa FF13—albeit without powers—and met the Watcher, the First Coming of Galactus would likely have played out very much (tho not exactly) as it did. The FF’s powers really played only a small part in that adventure.

Worth noting that Ivan Kragoff would not have been involved in the FF’s trip to the Moon, since they would not have inspired him to try a bath in the cosmic rays himself.

I love that "WHA-A-A-T?!?" I imagine it said with part astonishment and horror, a bit like when we heard Trump was elected... also followed by the overpowering wanting to get out of here instinct!
Thinking about all the great rogues and side characters Lee & Kirby developed in both FF and the early X-Men, they were hitting lots of home runs with characters that could go on... the Skrulls, Doom, Inhumans, Glactus and Silver Surfer... Magneto, Unus, The Stranger... okay The Vanisher didn't seem like the best, he got a third rate costume after all, but the back stories and the ideas! And always that little twist of humor now and then...
Jahf seems the most like someone that could've appeared back then!

Lets see - would Johnny have found Namor? And without Namor, would the FF have survived their second fight with Doom? Would the RRG have helped the Avengers fight the Hulk?

Imagining Johnny to be just as impetuous as ever, it's not hard to imagine him quitting the RRG for any number of reasons, and going to ground in some seedy area of the City.

Good stuff! I really enjoyed that, and I look forward to seeing what they are thinking about their HQ.

Thanks Jonathan! I only flicked back as far as 109, not far enough back in the archives - great pick.
I always read it as “WHA-A-AT! Sharra and K’ythri, get the f@%& out of here!”

Every time I see Jean (especially in plain clothes), I just want to hug her and say: "I'm so relieved you are alright."
(Toys put cathartically back in their box. Thank you!)
Silly, I know. :)

I really do the Galactus reference, considering space travel is limited to the FF and Avengers as needed. Add repelling the Kree and Skrull empires and more, and you have to wonder how crazy (or dangerous) the next would-be attacker from space is.
