 | Oh, no! I just realized who didn't get on that ship with our heroes.

Are you sure you didn't overlook him?

Fun frantic action - does feel like the end of an issue leading to a cliffhanger for sure.  Makes one wonder if JB was a director of the old serials in the 30's in a past life.

I can hardly wait to see what the heck is going on with the alt-X-Men and find out why they are so unstable in this universe - can't recall something like that from old Marvel but I figure there is a logic to it that I just can't recall (my memory is not what it once was).  Should be fun to see tomorrows page and the following ones which hopefully address what happened to alt-Magneto who was fading away last we saw a few pages ago (seems like forever but it is the same issue - just reread the whole issue to remind myself of what was in it) and what his plan is/was to save himself.
Right now I'm glad they got Kitty without her being royally screwed up (that we know of).  Still so weird seeing her in her original costume, but fun. |

          No pressure though, right, Warren?

Jeez, Angel is being just a little unfair. It's not as though Cyclops has a choice in the matter. Sheesh! I think Scott and Warren are going to have to have a talk after this...

Interesting choice to have the X-Men’s spacecraft “backing out” of the ShiAr starship…..and then using retro thrust to turn about.   A cool and thoughtful visual!

Would having them fly straight out and ahead make it seem like the impending danger (assuming the starship is about to go boom) would be less of a threat? |

Since they went in nose first, I didn’t think they had much choice but to back out.

Just to be clear... I actually read Angel's words as intended encouragement.

Sure. Warren trusts Scott. After years working together, he’s come to think of him as the go-to guy when a rabbit needs to be pulled out of a hat!

There hasn't been one page with this much excitement(conveyed by both script and art) in modern X titles in many years, let alone a whole book with nonstop energy. Nail biting!

For any current Marvel writers and editors out there, are you taking notes?

 | For any current Marvel writers and editors out there, are you taking notes? ••• I don’t think there are a lot of current readers—I honestly have a hard time calling them “fans”—who would be interested in this kind of storytelling. They’ve had a few decades now of being trained to accept “decompression” (ie lazy writing) and feel they are being somehow intellectually short changed if every scene isn’t dragged out to the maximum.
