Great beginning to this issue.

Isn't it mind boggling how many awesome characters Stan and Jack created in this universe? The way JB uses them always feels true to how they were originally conceived.

Taps into something I was thinking about just recently. Unlike the DC heroes, most of whom were trained for or born into their roles, Marvel’s early characters were “just folks” who “fate” cast into their parts—usually against their will.*The All New All Different X-Men were far removed from that. Unlike the original team, who were very much reg’lar folk (allowing for Warren’s millions), the team introduced in GSXM 1 included a goddess, a circus freak, a belligerent native American, a belligerent Canadian, a belligerent Japanese and a former cop. Peter was about the only one who came close to “ordinary” being an innocent farmboy. I created Kitty to try to tap into that earlier model, but unfortunately Chris started undermining my plan as soon as he could. ————— *Couple of geniuses in the mix, Reed Richards and Bruce Banner, but they were exceptions.

Heck yeah! I wanna see Thor throw a beat down on those guys, but I'm guessing they will weasel their way out of a well deserved righteous butt whipping.

Well, we know a couple of this Brotherhood didn't make it to "our" Earth-- and this could be why.Looking forward to seeing the next phase of this battle.

@JB: What a great point. I am so with you on the emotional level that "normal" gets too easily lost and dismissed in modern works. But it is such an important counter-point to the exotic! It grounds everything.
With regards to today's page: Wow! All this X-Men goodness and Thor too! Wonderful. Wonderful.
(I even enjoy your space rocks.)

JB,
The more I look at today's page, the more I hope that one day you would give us a THOR: Elsewhen one-shot.
You have a knack of portraying Thor as , well a GOD!!!
Just for the heck of it.....
Hey, I can imagine, right? ;-)

You don't ever want the Mighty Thor to be mighty sore at you, and here he is well past that! I'm wondering if the Silver Surfer or Firelord would be around in this altiverse? Maybe the three of them together could've taken these creeps out?
