WARREN!  NO!  Dude!  Keep a low profile!

The face on Warren and the little twirl of the sword is fantastic!
THATS the best face from you I’ve seen since the last best face...which was probably yesterday or something.

Your diversity of faces is unparalleled.  Especially considering how you have been criticized for “sameness” by some (idiots).

It was true at the start of my career that there was a general sameness about my heroic faces, male and female. However, that was something I worked hard to correct, and, happily, succeeded. Mostly.

Unfortunately, as with so many mindless mantra's, that particular chirp installed itself permanently in the minds of some "fans", and so the complaint can still be heard from time to time.

Wouldn't be much fun around here if they did!

That's some sweet rendering of Angel's wings (and one of the best Angel faces that I've seen you draw). I feel like some of that would be lost in the inks.

Sadly, no matter how talented the inker, when a tonal pencil line is replaced with a solid ink line, something is definitely lost.

Is there a technical tip or revelation regarding what you learned with respect to faces that you'd care to share?

I wish there was, but it’s another case of just running that play until you get it right.

I for one am grateful for the design differences between the two Angel costumes. That could get tricky Imagine.

I was just looking at that page from yesterday and thought I saw just a
bit of Magneto in Pietro’s face. Do you try and and maintain a familial
resemblance between the two of them?

First (and only) day of class at the John Byrne School for Artists:

 Dr. John Byrne wrote:

"Ok class. I'm happy to see all your bright and eager faces today at the start of what I hope will be a wonderful journey for each of you into the joys of comic artistry.

Our first lesson is this: "Practice".

Alright then! I'll see you all in four years for final exams.

(smiles, gathers papers to leave, pockets an apple)

Class dismissed."

Yes.

It was Neal Adams’ reveal of Magneto’s face that gave me the idea he might be Pietro’s pop.
