Can't wait to see what Magneto found in Germany. There are a few possibilities--all of them real interesting. Thanks, JB!

So the team that has killed and had its members die from their battles now gasps at what is behind door number 1?! What hell is to be unleashed? This is getting very good.

As always, I won't reveal my speculations, but this time I think I know what they are seeing... no really... at least I think so... uh... maybe... damn that tricksy Byrne :-)

Every year we are reminded about the impact one person's life can have on the world. We can assume that Charles Xavier has had a much larger impact than George Bailey, but Mr. Potter isn't nearly as bad as Magneto so this is going to be one heck of a reveal.

Those shocked faces are a litany of different faces - your artistry continues to grow, Mr. Byrne.
And I suppose I flatter myself, but having read Mr. Byrne's work for so long, and having at least a guess or two on the multiple twists in the brilliant labyrinth of his mind, I feel I know for sure the contents of that chamber. Mr. Byrne, you're clever and evil - a GREAT combination!

At first I did not give a lot of thought about Toad and Mastermind dying because I do not miss them for this storyline.
But to think about how they die... what kind of hopeless dire situation was for the FF o the Avengers for them to need to kill? Damn... great story better not be told!

Not necessarily killed by the heroes. For example, the Baxter Building was destroyed. I can't imagine Toad or Mastermind surviving that if they were inside.
Anyway, more good stuff. Interesting that Magneto can take Iceman's nickname without comment.

Not necessarily...true...maybe rat bastard Magneto using them as kamikaze bombers? Any version works for me as a good story.

The art is amazing and I like the pace of the story so far. No idea of who is behind the door (and happy about it; pity the poor fool who guesses right!).
Really like how the subtly-altered Magneto costume looks. The cloak in the penultimate panel is so well realised.
