"These are examples--two of many--of pulling too much of the real world into the stories."

One of the main reasons that, despite my inherent passion for comics, I no longer invest in them - preferring instead to re-read proven classics - or follow unexpected delights such as this.

I first saw Kitty when she was new at 13 and I was 12, so I want comic book time to apply it's 'now' to now. Oh, and for comic books to still be 40cents, and Charles Kuralt to still be on the road somewhere. :^)
I like that last under-the-chair perspective panel a lot!

...comic books to still be 40cents...••• I’m still smarting from the wallop to my wallet when they went to 12!

I was unhappy when they went from 5p to 6p. With limited pocket money, I had to be real careful what I bought. I wish my Mother hadn't passed my collection (of Marvel UK b&w reprint comics, plus a good hundred Beano, Valiant, Whizzer & Chips, etc. at that point) to a Jumble Sale. Especially when they were bought by my own School who brought them out whenever it was a rainy day (in the UK, that was lots) so that we would have something to do. Talk about adding insult to injury.
On the plus side, the price is right for X-Men: Elsewhen and the art/.story is better than ever.
If anyone's interested, for my own amusement, I knocked up a bundle of Elsewhen covers. You can see them here: Interesting - Jacks Bush Treasures. Enjoy - and feel free to laugh (I ain't much of an artist). :-)

I thought about posting the next page, too, today, since it actually has some X-Men on it, but that would widen the gap between the last page for March and the first Monday in April, and that's already pretty wide!

I know the Vuk and friends attacked our heroes, but a part of me is happy that there are still D'Bari out there in the universe.

I'm picturing a wall at JB's house with the various sub plots looking like that meme photo that always shows up with a crazy guy and lines joining 1001 things together. Getting Vuk and crew out of the story I'm sure is a bit of a relief as with so many balls in the air it must get challenging. One hand wave already was required (Colossus's leg), hopefully more aren't needed later. Trying to remember if anything was left unfinished from the hospital blow up - guess I need to go back and re-read.
I'd think whenever Colossus sees Magneto his first move should always be to switch back to human form. Nothing Wolverine can do about his metal bones but Colossus has a choice. Of course, in that case old Mags could've just grabbed any metal in the room to smack Pablo with.

Remember, too, that Peter has metal bracelets and a metal belt buckle. Most of the team, in fact, sport bits of metal that seem unwise considering the nature of their principle foe.

Is Cyclops' visor metal or some kind of plastic? I've never been quite sure.
