Roman numerals used to (70's) get way more use than they do today. I miss 'em.
Fantastic page today. You haven't lost energy or pop in your style, you just use it more sparingly and to good contrast. Don't doubt for one second life's journey and the wisdom you've accumulated. Masterful.

My question is... Whose hand is that on Ororo's arm?!?
(No answers, please.)

Oh snap!
The surprises just keep coming!
Jim Shooter is a classic example of a pretty good soldier being elevated to a rank above their talent/ego level. Good ideas mixed with random, inconsistent rules. I have worked with people like that. They go down ranting....or telling a different story for the rest of their life.

Something "bad Bobby" said struck me, about how Magneto trained them to never hold back.Seems to me that if they aren't learning how to use their powers at less than full force, they haven't learned how to be efficient or "do more with less." Evil Scott might not know how to use his optic blasts as effectively or creatively as our Scott, if he's used to being a cannon, and if Angel is used to getting the drop on his victims from above, that trick won't work once a canny opponent learns it. To cite two possible examples.
Lastly, these otherworlders are clearly used to having Magneto as their combination team leader and big gun. If he's taken out, how well can they fight without him?

Great page! I like how Iceman blocked the icicles by creating a shield with his arm.

Great page yet again today. Mr. Byrne... you're good.
The Watcher? Involved in human affairs again? Eh. It's what he does.
I know whose hand that LOOKS like upon Ororo's arm. But it can't be, because he's currently blue and furry... and maybe I saw the perspective wrong.
And what the deuce? I'll find out tomorrow. I'm patient. I can wait... I think.

Surprised that any of you are bewildered by our “mystery guest” in the last panel, given Iceman’s presence.
