It’s true that my basic drawing skills have improved somewhat at the expense of the level of energy. Or, at least, of the KIND of energy. As part of my maturation process as an artist, I consider it a fair trade.

One need only look at ELSEWHEN to often see more energy on one page than you would find in whole books these days. I guess I was wondering if there were "tricks" you employed back then that you retired as your skillset evolved and improved? Honestly, I understand so little about drawing that I'm not even sure if I'm asking the question that I really want to be asking. Perhaps best to just say, "Thank you for the reply" and return to our regularly scheduled program.

Looking at the Cockrum full pager and reading :
"...MASTER OF THE LEGION OF EVIL MUTANTS...."
Was this a combination of Chris not immediately know the name of the Brotherhood and possibly a play on words with Dave being the former artist on the Legion of Superheroes?

This past weekend I did a new cover for a Spanish HC reprint of DANGER UNLIMITED.* First inking I've done in about 2 years. Came out pretty well, tho I sez it wot shouldn't.Gives me a tiny itch to ink a page or six of ELSEWHEN, somewhere down the road. And we know where itches can lead. . . . . . . . . ________________________ * You'll see it in due course.

Ttches lead to two years of greatness for us fans.
Star Trek: New Visions was an itch and Elsewhen was an itch.
Your itches take a loooonnngggggg time to scratch

Another great page. Even scratched up Storm looks as lovely as ever. Few artists even come close to JB's Storm.
And yet another page, I can imagine in color. For me at least I can see the icemen in white, and a bit of blue, against the green backdrop of the vegetation.
Thanks to you, JB, for more great art!

One note about that DU cover. I dated it MMXXI, using Roman numerals as is my wont. So weird to remember the first time I did that was on HIDDEN YEARS, with a simple MM.(Which prompted several letter writers to ask who was the inker whose initials were MM.)

Loved today's new page, and yes, this is real big if the Watcher chose to get involved. Looking forward to finding out why Uatu thought this was worth offering the X-Men some help.
