Mr. Byrne: Errr
Oh. Hear that pounding sound? Kinda like the thundering of hundreds of baby elephants? Yes, that would be my head and the floor of my house, COMPLETELY forgetting XHY.
Mr. Byrne, I can only blame it on my oatmeal pan between my eyes. But I love your XHY! Really and really!

JB - thanks for doing this project!
I can't believe I am seeing the REAL X-Men portrayed properly in this day and age.
You have so many balls in the air it's like a roller coaster to keep up with all the plot lines.. (that's a compliment BTW).
Can't wait til the next issue!

1.- Mr Byrne, would you say that yesterday´s page is one particularly interesting to ink?
2.- This issue has been officially remarkable and with numbers to sustain it. The most pages of comments, even the double of the majority of issues!
3.- See you on monday! Deadlines at job did not let me appreciate the short month until now...

Not sure it indicates anything significant, but this thread commenting on issue 19 is longer than any other issue. Clearly, people are talking. ;)

It's scary, but this is the BEST comic I'm reading on a regular basis. I'm not sure what that says about the state of comics at present, but I'm glad I still look forward to great stories with great art (that aren't constantly being shoe-horned into the current Secret Crisis Wars On Infinite Otherworld Earths) when I can get them.Just don't get me started on what Marvel have done to my favourite Sorcerer Supreme and magic in general (shudder)!
Anyhow, Feb is my birthday month, and I want to give JB all my thanks for making it a memorable one - I am so eagerly waiting to see what happens next. Thanks, JB.

What was the line about Iceman being on the other side of the country? Was that a reference to something established in the original run?

Would he have been in the Champions at this point?

No, the Champions broke up circa X-Men #110. That said, this was a period where he wasn't appearing much so he could easily still be out there.

What is quite the brain-twister for -our- X-Men characters, is that these are also the 'real' characters. Regardless through which lens they are being viewed.
Their choices or their environment have sculpted two very different facets out of ultimately the same gem.
The world must appear very different when you realise that, in response to the question, "Could you ever kill someone". You know that you have seen that side of yourself reflected and the answer is, "Happily and gleefully!".

One of my comics, was a Thing / Iceman team-up from 1981 if that offers any clues.
