This issue is a fantastic rapid fire roller coaster - not unexpected, because
every time Watcher shows up, there is a huge brawl. He's an intergalatic
rubbernecker, pulling off the celestial freeway to watch us fight it out.

I figured Kitty was feeling weak from phasing three people at once maybe? If not, I'm sure a future page or panel will give the info. Maybe Pablo's powers effected her, or even the evil 'Phantom Girl' did something...

When JB started posting these pages, I noticed I would often start to write a comment that basically boiled down to "What happens next?" It took a lot of adapting to the current format (a page a day) before the urge went away.
Another effect I experienced from the format was to feel like there were almost too many plots going on, "unresolved", for too long. But when I went back and read the whole issue(s) in one go, nope! It's just a normal JB comic.
JB, any difference on your end in producing this work?
*edited to add: having easy access to the author also increases my desire to give feedback/ask questions. Imagine JB in your living room in the 80s.

My approach to production is the same as it’s always been—tho I have been aware that the page-a-day approach does make some of the subplots feel stretched out, even if they’re not. Makes me wonder sometimes if I should post whole issues all at once, like a real monthly comic book.

What I do is read the page-a-day work (it's impossible to resist), and then go back and re-read the entire issue, when it's completed.

For me, the page a day has been a brief respite from the insanity of living in America right now. Nice to have something fun to look forward to daily. Plus, as Brennan points out and I can attest to, anyone who wants to read the issue as a whole is free to do so at the end of the month. And I do enjoy the daily conversation.

Readers always have the option of waiting until the issue is complete and reading it in one sitting. I enjoy the day-by-day of these pages; it's become part of my morning ritual to open the browser, find the site and see the new page.If I lose track of a subplot, it's not hard to "scroll back" and find what I forgot. So... JB, you should do whatever works best for you. We'll be happy to read the story however you want to release it.

Maybe it's the collector mentality in me that I like to 'collect' the pages up over time into folders for each issue number. :^)
