This guy has an ¹optic beam! Hope he can survive a Colossus spinebreaker jab !!!•• The Legion equivalent of this character has been speculated (and shown, for all I know) to be energy in a suit, with no human form. In the case of our IG avatar, question answered!

...beautiful pose by Cockrum on Kurt... •• And one more example of just how GOOD Dave was. In that shot, he breaks one of the most basic rules of figure drawing, by having Kurt lead with his right arm and leg, instead of right/left. If I tried to pull that off, Kurt would look like a pretzel. Dave makes it look easy!

Hey, JB. On page 3 panel 3, the jacket design and the way the drapery is shown on the back of Magneto's jacket make a big M. Was that intentional?

I know very little about the Imperial Guard. I don't know even half their names. The thing I have to talk about it... the hand of Colossus going in and out of the back of the visored fellow in the first panel. Googling the Imperial Guard, I see this is Impulse/Pulsar. A being made of energy in a suit? So maybe this punch isn't as horrible as I first thought.

Impulse is based on Wildfire, who is indeed shown to be energy in a costume to allow him to reconstitute a humanoid form. But a Colossus colossal haymaker would probably still set him back a bit.
That fight looks vicious. Even if that's all the IG left, it's still a heck of a donnybrook. And you draw SUCH nice donnybrooks!
A question for you, Mr. Byrne, to which I hope I'm not blowing future stories. Any upcoming appearances of the other new X-Men? I'd like to see Sunfire, and I'd LOVE to see Banshee again! He is such a good back-up character to Cyclops, easily filling a role of secondary leader, and the X-Men simply lack enough flyers; and another ranged attack is always nice to have.

...how will you again avoid a full frontal ;)•• Avoiding a wienie reveal is not as big a problem as trying to keep it "natural". Avoiding poses where that's what it looks like Logan is doing! Of course, I could just show that his naughty bits retract, like his claws!
