That page works as a visually dramatic moment while also moving the story along with the perfect placement of text and dialogue. I can understand why the Imperial Guard would be very prone to quick judgements and wanting to take action, so it seems very plausible things would go this way. I hope they get their asses handed to them a bit, especially for attacking a man in a wheelchair, but also that they will have to learn the reality of things and accept they are on the wrong side of it!

It occurs to me that we're seeing What If? stories inside of a What If? story!

This issue is shaping up to be my favorite and that's saying something, I can't wait to see what JB is cooking up! It's gonna be great!
In the hot mess that was 2020, your Elsewhen project was definitely a guaranteed smile a day. Thanks JB for keeping our imaginations churning!

WOW!!!
I can't think of a better way to get mentally prepared for Super Wild Card weekend than some action on this thread.
That last panel, Cyclops is looking quite Adams-esque as I've ever seen JB portray him.

Love this page. I do like the IG but I'm not overly familiar with all of them. Can someone name them all for me?

I pity any Imperial Guard member who might harm Pablo's new friend Wolverine...

…Pablo's new friend Wolverine...•• This was something that happened completely "organically", without any pre-planning on my part. A "moment" suggested itself, and I went with it. Quite pleased that I did!

It feels unplanned and natural. Just a little ray of light shining into Wolverine's otherwise tragic life. It's great.

Astra vs Kitty Pryde! NEAT! I wonder if their phasing is similar, and thus disruptive to each other, or if it's completely incompatible, and again maybe disruptive. Slick!
Wolverine vs Fang again? I suspect Logan is going to get his good returns for a change. Poor Fang... can't catch a cut. :)
I'm not sure what Pablo's powers are, but the IG might wish they'd stuck with Dark Phoenix... :)
Jahf vs Hussar seems pretty one sided, so Professor Xavier may be the hero in this battle.
But in the end, ARE these the IG? We know plenty of villains good at robots, and the IGers we see in action don't show any particular "organic" super powers, save perhaps for Astra - but her powers not only could but HAVE been duplicated mechanically.
Fascinating battle! Can't wait to see who comes out on top!

Great action! Fun seeing Tempest, Astra and Hobgoblin again. Had to look up Impulse's name, was his name ever spoken in his first couple of appearances?

After spending a dozen issues setting up the Imperial Guard, I'd suddenly throw in ringers? Ringers that would need vast amounts of explanation? WHY??

I assumed Oracle's cybernetic parts are a result of damage sustained versus Lillandra-Phoenix (or maybe the character was always meant to be a half-cyborg).
