The attack on Nightcrawler happened so long ago, I couldn't remember the details so I went looking at the back issues. It happened in issue 3 more than a year ago!

Hey JB, why did Chris say it was impossible for Marie Severin to ink that MTU issue?(Beautiful page today, btw. So nice to have this back!)

Before reading these comments I was sure a Byrne fake out was going to happen to Amanda. Of course, who says he couldn't still be faking us out? :) Although with new pages I will miss those random ones we were getting of subplots that didn't happen. Nice when even breaks can be fun.

And cushions. Damaged cushions with stuffing coming out of them.
Keep on telling yourself, Byrne detractors, that he "doesn't do backgrounds."

I’ve encountered fans who declare that when it comes to drawing backgrounds, rubble, wreckage, heck, even trees “don’t count”.There’s an odd mentality that somehow doesn’t make the connection that every line on a page is a line someone put there.

Poor Kurt. When he learns what happened with his body in between the attack and now, he is going to really lose it. I hope Spidey is not too rough on the guy!

I totally "heard" Spidey's "THWIP" sound as the sound effect from the 60's Spidey cartoon. I think it was the close-up of the hand that did it.

Another great looking page.
A few things I like: - Nightcrawler's teeth in the close-up
- Spider-Man's head in profile (i.e.the contour of the nose under the mask)
- The vertiginous perspective shot of the high rise down to the street
- The close-up of the web-spinning hand in the final panel, particularly the thumb
