I agree that the bathroom scene is especially well done. It looks like a real bathroom!

Not to be crass, but in the last panel, the fact that you paid attention to the fact that a woman flying at that angle would have asymmetry in her breasts is detail that is often ignored by other artists. So much enjoyement as always, thanks Mr Byrne. Hope you remain healthy.

Over the years, female readers have been very appreciative of the fact that the breasts I draw, no matter what the size, move like the real thing(s). It's gratifying that it's noticed.

Legion of Imperial Cyborgs? :-)
EDIT:
This will be another situation for Mama Grey to get pissed at the X-Men, especially with Charles Xavier.

This may be a pair of silly questions, but...
The energy effects that are shown when Jean uses her powers are all for the benefit of the reader, right? They are not actually visible to any (non-telepathic) characters in the story, are they?

Good question, Wallace. My recollection is that Jean can create a telekinetic starburst... so maybe some of her powers ARE visible! Can't wait to find out.
Speaking of... Mr. Byrne, I'm afraid I may be getting used to your work. I looked at today's page and am STUNNED at A) the appearance of Oracle, B) her "cyborgization", and C) the story set up here. And yet... I don't find myself demanding tomorrow's chapter. I am content to look at today's page, marvel at the masterwork, and eagerly - but not desperately - await tomorrow's chapter.
Oh, and it hurts when I lift my arm like this and twist it. What should I do?

Top marks, Wallace! Like so many of the effects that appear on a comicbook page--speed lines, vibration lines, Peter Parker's spider-sense--these are not mean to be taken literally. One could, I suppose, imagine that a character with more-than-human sight might be able to see what Jean (or Xavier) generates, but unlike Scott's eyebeams or Storm's lightning, they're not "really" there. It's all part of playing that fun game we call Comic Books!

I'm really getting a strong Neal Adams vibe in that final panel. Especially Oracle's (half)face

As rendered here, the effect also reminds me of the way Dave Cockrum handled Jean's powers before she became Phoenix-- a very cool circling-back.
