I’ve dined at Topps. Somewhere around there, I’m told, some exterior shots for THE SOPRANOS were done.

Sweet cliffhanger! I’m hoping that’s an early Doombot.

Not so easy to leave the X-Men... Just when you think you're out, some robotic thingamajig pulls you back in.

So cool! We try to get there whenever we're in NJ. Saturday night, lines are still around the corner of the building.
And I wouldn't be surprised at all about SOPRANOS filming in and around there--lots of good spots for that show to use. The whole "drive out of the Lincoln Tunnel" sequence is real familiar from years of commuting in and out of NYC.

I worked at Journal Square in Jersey City for a decade during the show's production. So many SOPRANOS shots were filmed within a mile of the Pulaski Skyway. I consider myself to be a good driver, but I took the center on-ramp onto the road during rush hour once in my life, and I never want to do that ever again.

EDIT: Google Street view captured a nightmare scenario - a car breaking down right at that treacherous merge LINK Bear in mind that cars routinely do 70+MPH on this stretch since there's no room for speed traps..or shoulders!

Kearney, btw, is pronounced “Carney”. A leftover from British days, I suppose.

Forgot to comment on the awesomeness of that bathroom panel in all its perspective perfection.

Always great to catch up with Jean -or is that what the individual in the last panel would say ;-)

Another "domestic" page that is just filled with everyday detail that not too many current artists would include... just shows how much those details matter to drawing you into the story.   I like the askew tissue box (even if my OCD just wants to straighten it LOL

Something I used to try to impress on would-be comic artists is that we can teach chimps to draw people in skintight suits. What we NEED is artists who can ground those characters in a recognizable reality.
