Regarding the ongoing comments about how Sprite's powers operate, I prefer to think that she operates like Casper the Friendly Ghost when she is translucent while phasing. The fact that Sprite's phasing might actually work by molecules moving past each other takes things farther than I need to go in order to enjoy the story. I do not begrudge JB or anyone else who wants to consider the scientific explanation at the molecular level, but that is my preferred approach in my imagination.

The last panel on page 10 with Kurt twisting his head toward the reader shows a Neal Adams influence, to my eye.

I’ve mentioned that one of the artistic “tricks” I’ve been playing with in the inks is leaving the rough stuff uninked and converting to greyscale in the scans. This creates a much more organic feel in contrast to the parts that are inked. This morning I’m realizing it also provides a bit of a breather for me. Having spent almost two days slogging thru a page of really intense blacks I turn to a page that’s basically just Kurt surrounded by rubble. A whole lot less to ink! Tho this page does include a fairly crowded street shot.

Elsewhere, I continue to see posters online insisting I am “retired”.I was for about two and a half years, but I have been back in the saddle for months. ELSEWHEN, it seems, continues to be the best kept secret of my career.

Amazing to me that there are people who are heavily involved in the comic book universe who aren't aware of this project after so many years!

I wager there will be some that will be unaware even up to the release date, and their first awareness will be when it's on display in their local comic shop.
*The cynic in me wonders if half of those people will assume that it's a reprint!!!

Of course they will. That was part of Chris Ryall’s decision to resurrect the old ALL NEW - ALL DIFFERENT banner for the cover. But, dumb fans will always be out there. I recall one who insisted a retelling in one of my SUPERMAN issues was a “reprint”.

Now, here’s something perplexing: somehow the physical, on-paper artwork for this issue has… disappeared!. The whole issue. Plus the manilla envelope it was in. I’ve spent the morning searching. Freely admit my Studio is generally an untidy mess, but this is ridiculous! This is a substantial object to vanish! And to complicate matters I had sent the scans of the inked pages to Chris Ryall several days ago, and they have not arrived yet. This was using Abrams server. AND, looking at what I sent, I see about half a dozen of the files are scans of the pencils—and now I can’t find those inked pages on my computer. Arrgh!!!!!!!!!

This is my worry. That the scans of my work will get lost before I can upload them properly. So I'll back them up. Then I start thinking, what if those get screwed up! So then I back up the back up. I know it's my brain's paranoia factor at play. Man, I hope that highly significant envelope turns up soon! (make it so, Universe!)

On the other hand - you get an excuse to redo the whole issue! /sarcasm
