The Byrne pencils / Simonson inks collaboration is so rare, but it always looks terrific. Off the top of my head, there was:- the X-Factor annual - that Orion pinup from JKFW - (I think) the cover to World of Krypton #1 - I can't remember if the 2 pages from GENERATIONS III #9 (the flashback of Orion vs Darkseid) were all Walter or not.

I know there's not a lot to compare it to, but this is the best I've seen of Walt's inks over JB's pencils.
The aforementioned X-Factor annual just seemed to lean too heavily towards Walt's style and away from JB's for my taste. This latest piece isn't at all overpowered by Walt's style and is extremely faithful to the pencils of the main figure, while the 'fx' around the periphery kind of invites a bit more of an interpretative approach to the finishing -- and I think he did a good job here as well.
Would be interested to see if he does anymore.

Oppositely from Peter, I felt that X-FACTOR Annual was a perfect pairing of JB and Walt. You could still it was Byrne but with a Simonson flair. Just glorious.

I’d also love to see JB ink Walt.

Inking Walt's work would present a couple of key questions before I could even start. Should I try to ink like Walt? Or should I just go ahead and ink like me?
