I'm not a dad, but I have been described as a mother. Pretty accurately, it seems...

I was speculating that Wolverine's healing factor may have had an effect on the length of time that he was turned to stone.  Logically though, it probably wouldn't kick in while he's like that.  Also, thinking back on what's happened to him recently, he's probably not up for making any clever quips at the moment.

Edit: I'm glad it didn't go that way.  What's on the page is a lot more fun.

She has been one of the brightest of many highlights of this run, you are really doing a excellent job Mr Byrne, looking forward to seeing what else you have cooked up for the team.

Great page today. Why does this feel SO darn right?!? The stories and characters are just flowing so smoothly.

(Small tingle of sadness realizing we'll never get to see you draw Phoenix again except in flashbacks....it's a bit like the nostalgia I always feel when I see the original team.  What a wonderfully rich past this book has---now that it's been course-corrected, of course!)
 Thank you.

My favorite part of today's page (I wondered why Wolverine was on the floor until I realized that of course he would be on the floor. He was, after all, lunging forward when he was statue-fied)

The space effect in the last panel looks really cool.

I look forward to seeing what JB will do with the X-Men. Honestly, I'm liking this series much more than the issues that followed JB's departure.

To me, the great tragedy here is that while the X-Men might bear some tiny amount of responsibility for Dark Phoenix (with Mastermind bearing a good bit more), there's nothing they can do make things right for the D'Bari. They can't offer the survivors a new homeworld and they can't raise the billions Phoenix murdered. And the D'Bari will likely realize that attacking the X-Men won't get them vengeance on the Phoenix.
It's a lose-lose situation all around, which makes for some compelling storytelling.

JB, I can't tell you how much I appreciate all that you're doing here. Writing, penciling, lettering a series is a HUGE amount of work and it's clearly a labor of love.
