I loved how, early in JB's fantastic four run, the corner box was a different drawing on almost every cover.  It was especially exciting since almost every other Marvel comic had the same corner box month after month after month.

Josh - this was a follow up to Kirby's corner boxes, when a different FF'er had the focus on each FF cover. I don't recall this used on other team books, but the ol' memory may be malfunctioning again. Anyone else smell toast?

I do recall that the Vision was the cornerbox character for the Avengers - but that didn't change, i.e., we didn't get the Wasp or Hawkeye in the cornerbox back in the 60s or 70s.

That's right, starting with FF #62 they started rotating four different corner boxes. Sometimes it really seems like Kirby did do everything first! It continued that way to #115.

Crazy—or depressing—to think corner boxes and I have been around long enough to be associated like that!

JB did an exceptional job with the She-Hulk portrait in the FF corner boxes. It’s one of my favorites!!!

While I do love the corner  box floating heads by JB -

My personal preference is the old school figures -

It's mostly out of nostalgia, they were in use when I started reading comic in the early 70's,

I have feelings of nostalgia for those also, Robert.
I was fond of the next generation Vision that appeared, love the action shot;

Tho once JB's head shots started showing up, it was like candy for my eyes!

It was fun to see them return with AVENGERS #305, with new faces like Sersi, Gilgamesh and Quazar, mixed with those from the previous run. New and old, all by JB. Made it all feel seemless!

In the 70's the Fantastic Four went from a John Romita drawn group (with the possible exception of the Thing, that may or may not be his work) -

But once George Perez had spent some time on the title they changed to Perez drawn heads -

And then shortly after JB took over they book they went with four heads drawn by him (and then eventually other styles of corner box art) -

Edited due to typo
