JB: Not explicitly, tho I do want Pixie to drift thru, as she did in HIDDEN YEARS
***
Have to admit, I would love guest appearances from members of the First Line. It's possible Professor X would know a few of them, or Wolverine might. (If he can remember them.)

JB, beside Terry Austin, who would you think would do justice to inking these amazing Elsewhen pages?

Love having Firelord burning Jean to death in front of Scott there - made to look as much like the official page from 137 as possible, but clearly still in Marvel Girl clothes and being burned by him. Nice. Glad that it doesn't appear to be an attempt to suggest this is just going to convert to 'standard Marvel' ie: it is all a nightmare Scott is having after Jean died. Ugh, what a cheat that would feel like.
The shower bit is funny for those of us 50 and up. I remember reading years ago that was the only way JB would take over FF again - to have a shower moment declaring everything since he left never happened. Always figured it was just silly stuff as a way of saying he is never going back. In truth outside of an Elsewhen story like this that is stuck in his head I'd rather not see him go back. Most of the time it is best to leave solid runs as just that outside of the odd special story.

“Firelord?”
Isn’t that guy’s name Starbolt?

Starbolt, of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard.
...Solar Boy, by any name, would burn just as bright.
...and I found this image of Jean burning, in this context, especially effective. These panels are like sacred tablets (tableau?). Changing the events like this feels like heresy!

Doh! Got his name mixed up with the former herald of Galactus I guess. Ah well.

Today's page --- brutal!
I have absolutely no idea how this is going to play out. None whatsoever. All seems lost.
No rehashing here. Truly original.

Nice - Phoenix kills Cyclops in his mind. Poor Scott. Still alive but now needs to fight back from within himself, or with the help of Jean perhaps?

YIKES. Poor Scott. That punch was brutal.
Love that dark effect on his glasses. It really makes it feel like he was turned off like Phoenix flipping a switch. We are all so beneath her power.

Scene:Externally: Average 46 year old man with reading glasses sits quietly in his office staring at his phone. Internally: 10 year old boy stands on his bed screaming “What’s going to happen!!” JB the suspense is killing me but the ride is SO worth it. Hurry up Monday( said no one ever except now)

So Phoenix is messing with Scott's mind and using illusions to do it? I wonder if she/it learn something from Mastermind. Very interesting page and an entirely different kind of villain for the X-Men. This one just wants to cause pain and suffering as far as I can tell since there doesn't seem to be any other goal so far. It all adds up to the X-Men being in a world of hurt.
